New York Mets star Francisco Lindor has been in the news this week after his wife, Katia Lindor, was named on New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s list of inaugural committee members.

Katia, who has voiced her support for immigrants on social media and through her podcast, has been listed as one of the hosts of “The Unaparent Podcast” on the roster of committee members. The star-studded committee also features actors Cynthia Nixon and John Turturro, who will host Mamdani’s ascension to mayor next month.

Mets fans reacted to the All-Star shortstop's wife being named on Mamdani's committee.

He has been involved in literally every single rumor that involves clubhouse drama not to mention thumbs downing the fans with his boy Baez who we traded stud PCA for.. we already have a plethora of infielders that could start or sign Bichette." Katia is a big supporter of Mamdani and his works, and she showed her support for the new mayor during November's election. She displayed her support with a social media post, writing:

"Supporting politicians who fight for immigrants, artists, workers, and everyone who deserves a dignified life – isn’t against my interests, even if I’m in a different economic position, my well-being is tied to the well-being of others. When humanity thrives, we all do. Choosing kindness, equity, and solidarity isn’t radical – it’s what keeps us human."

MLB analyst dismisses rumors of Mets star Francisco Lindor's trade

Amid the growing unrest among the Mets fans following Katia Lindor's selection on Zohran Mamdani’s committee, MLB analyst Jake Brown refuted rumors of the All-Star shortstop's trade.

"Friendly reminder that Francisco Lindor is an elite baseball player, future Hall of Famer & is not getting traded by the Mets," Brown wrote on X.

Lindor has been in the news this offseason after reports emerged of his altercation with former Mets teammate Jeff McNeil, who has been traded to the A's this month.
