After LaMelo Ball's exit, the Charlotte Hornets are in a new era. They are building a strong team around two players: Brandon Miller and Kon Knueppel. They're a fair duo to build around because they fit the bill for modern NBA wings.

While Knueppel has stood out during his rookie season, Miller might have the star power to become the true franchise player. Former multi-time NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady certainly thinks so, as he believes Miller is next up.

Tracy McGrady believes Brandon Miller is the Hornets' next superstar

Now that the Hornets have hit the proverbial reset button on the current team, it seems that they are picking the next direction. That will involve building around Miller and Knueppel, the two players who have star potential.

Most people saw that Knueppel had a historic rookie season, especially with his perimeter shooting. He has tremendous upside as a shooter and scorer, but Miller might have the higher ceiling between the two.

It was clear why Miller was the second overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft just behind Victor Wembanyama. He has all the traits of a modern-day NBA wing with his perimeter shooting, shot creation, and defensive upside. T-Mac believes that this makes him a future star.

"I think B Miller can turn the corner. LaMelo is gone, right? Him having a bigger role this year, he should be a guy that averages 25-26 points, taking that next step. Depending on what I see from him this year is gonna determine, alright, he's gonna be the franchise. Because I think this year should be that year where we say, yeah, that's your franchise guy," McGrady said on Cousins with Vince Carter.

Miller has all the tools to become a star player. The Hornets are ready to keep building. While they might not get instant results, the Hornets do have the potential to become an amazing team.
