Week 2 brings one of the most anticipated games of the college football season as No. 1 Ohio State visits No. 4 Texas in an epic clash of traditional powers.
We don't know much about either team yet, as both warmed up for this showdown with cupcake routs in their openers. The Buckeyes downed Ball State 56-3, while the Longhorns pummeled Texas State 59-7. Now it's time for the real work to begin.
Arch Manning looked strong in Week 1 with 305 passing yards and four touchdowns, but the degree of difficulty will be exponentially higher Saturday. Manning was mediocre in last year's 14-7 season-opening loss to the Buckeyes in Columbus, completing 17 of 30 passes for 170 yards with a TD and an interception. Texas will need more from him in this one to knock off the top-ranked team in the land.
Julian Sayin is back for Year 2 as the starter for Ohio State and was similarly stellar in the opener, completing 21 of 25 for 320 yards and three TDs. He played the efficient game manager in last year's matchup with one key exception, as his 40-yard TD throw to Carnell Tate early in the fourth quarter accounted for nearly a third of his 126 passing yards on the day and proved to be the difference in the outcome.
