Canadian basketball fans can finally rejoice. The WNBA has expanded to Toronto, and the Tempo kick off their first season now.
After an exhibition game between the Lynx and Sky in 2023, the WNBA knew it was time to expand to Toronto. A year later, the Tempo was born. Now, the league will compete with 15 teams before growing further.

The Tempo will begin its franchise history with a bang under Sandy Brondello. The legendary player joins Toronto after winning two league titles – one in 2014 with the Mercury and the latest in 2024 with the Liberty.
There's no telling what Toronto is capable of doing this season. But there's only one way to find out.

Toronto Tempo 2026 schedule
The WNBA regular season kicks off in May, and the Tempo will host Washington for their season-opener. They wrap up the regular season in September in Connecticut.
Toronto will play its home games at the Coca-Cola Coliseum.
