Top 10 players competing at the 2026 World Cup of Darts: From Luke Littler to Michael van Gerwen

The World Cup of Darts has arrived, and several of the best players in darts will represent their country at the four-day tournament.

Since each country will have two players representing them, not every top player can compete at the event, but there are still many notable names looking to make a run at the coveted World Cup title.

Here are the top 10 players playing at this year's World Cup of Darts.

1: Luke Littler

Ranking position on OoM: #1

Anyone who pays the slightest amount of attention to darts can see why Littler is the best player at the event, as he currently is the reigning champion of every individual major on the calendar except the European Championship.

He's yet to win the World Cup, so he'll be on a mission to check another title off his to-do list this weekend.

2: Luke Humphries

Ranking position on OoM: #2

Luckily for Humphries, he won't have to face Littler in this event, as the two Lukes will partner up for England again.

It's pretty clear that Humphries and Littler are the two best players in the world right now, and it's going to be tough for other countries to stop them at the World Cup.

3: Gian van Veen

Ranking position on OoM: #3

GVV made his World Cup debut in 2025, finishing as a semifinalist with Danny Noppert.

Since then, he's won his first major (European Championship), made the WC final, was named to his first Premier League lineup and has made numerous deep runs at events.

He's hit a bit of a drought in the last couple of months, but when he's at his best, he's one of the best players in the world.

4: Jonny Clayton

Ranking position on OoM: #5

2021 is undoubtedly Clayton's best year in the PDC, but he's consistently performed well at events in the last 12+ months.

Clayton was a runner-up at the World Cup last year and has won the event twice before.

He made his return to the Premier League this year and was a dart away from playing Luke Littler in the final.

5: Michael van Gerwen

Ranking position on OoM: #4

MVG isn't the player he used to be, but he's still one of the greats who can give any player an issue when he plays his A game.

He's a three-time World Cup champion, and he'll look to add to that total this weekend.

6: Josh Rock

Ranking position on OoM: #8

Rock was viewed as the 'Luke Littler before Luke Littler', and may not be appreciated as much now due to Littler's emergence and the new standard he's set.

That shouldn't dim the light on Rock's achievements, though, as his run with Daryl Gurney to the title at last year's World Cup was something we hadn't seen before.

Rock has also had a streaky past few months, but he's bound to bounce back, as he's a world-class player when he gets in a rhythm.

7: Gary Anderson

Ranking position on OoM: #11

Anderson proved at this year's WC that he can turn up and make a run at his age, even with his prime behind him.

He's one of the greatest players to play the game, and is a former champion at this event.

8: Martin Schindler

Ranking position on OoM: #19

Schindler is on his way to becoming one of the greatest darts players from Germany.

He and Ricardo Pietreczko were semifinalists last year and will look to use the German home crowd in their favor to go a step further at this year's event.

9: Krzysztof Ratajski

Ranking position on OoM: #23

Ratajski recently tied his best career WC campaign by making the quarterfinals.

He was also a quarterfinalist at the UK Open, and is looking to make the quarterfinals at the World Cup for the first time in his career.

10: Daryl Gurney

Ranking position on OoM: #26

Gurney was Rock's partner at the World Cup last year when the two made history by bringing home Northern Ireland's first World Cup.

Gurney is a two-time major winner (World Grand Prix and PC Finals) and will play in his 10th World Cup this weekend.
