Tom Brady Reveals Whether He'll Play in 2028 Summer Olympics

Tom Brady and Alix Earle Party in Las Vegas Amid Romance Rumors

Tom Brady doesn’t plan on making any plays anytime soon.

After it was announced that flag football would make its Olympic debut as an official sport in the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles, the seven-time Super Bowl champ—who hung up his jersey for good in 2023—revealed that a return to the field is far-fetched.

“I would never say never but that is probably unlikely, just so you know,” he said during a March 17 appearance on Good Morning America. “I don’t know, I think for these young guys it’s good for them to do it.”

While he’s leaving the tackles to the current NFL stars, the 48-year-old isn’t opposed to taking on another role for the all-star team.

“If I ever wanted to come in as an advisor role, as a coach something like that, that’s probably better suited for me,” he explained. “But I’ll let the young Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen get out there and try to win a gold medal for the US.”

That said, the news of flag football becoming an Olympic sport has the former pro footballer jazzed—from behind the sports commentators’ desk.

“I think the lead up to this game has got me a little excited,” he added, “but I love my FOX job. I love doing my broadcast, so big commitment to that.”

Since Tom—dad to kids Jack, 18, with ex Bridget Moynahan as well as Benjamin, 16, and Vivian, 13, with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen—retired from playing football, he’s certainly stayed busy. After all, he recently revealed that his life is all work and no play after romance rumors began to swirl with Alix Earle.

"You know what? I don't have much time for a personal life or much time for myself,” Tom told People in an interview published Jan. 14, “but I love working and I love my kids."

"I like to be busy and try to really stay fulfilled in the things I'm doing,” he added, "so I'm working on some really cool projects and I'm involved with some great teams of people that are doing some really positive things."
