A half-naked reveler in Texas twerked atop a speeding jeep moments before the vehicle’s drunk driver smashed into a car and sent him flying, a viral video shows.
The 22-year-old man sustained a serious head injury after flying off the Jeep in the spring break hotspot of Port Aransas, a beach enclave near Corpus Christi, local police told KRIS 6.
The video, which went viral on social media, shows the man dancing suggestively on the roof; another clip shows the aftermath of the crash, in which paramedics treat his wounds while the driver and passengers — all wearing swimsuits — look on.
The Jeep’s driver, Riley Rhoades, was arrested for DWI after failing a breathalyzer test, according to KIIITV.
Rhoades faces charges of intoxication assault and is being held in the Nueces County Jail on a $10,000 bond, the outlet said.
The tragic high-speed twerking was but one of several incidents in a weekend of chaos for Port Aransas, which only has around 3,000 permanent residents but hosts 80,000 to 100,000 spring breakers every year, the town’s mayor Wendy Moore told KIIITV.
A 17-year-old from San Antonio allegedly sent five people to the hospital when he opened fire on the beach late Saturday night, according to KrisTV
Prosecutors claim the alleged shooter, Ernesto Josiah Castillo, pulled a gun and started blasting during a confrontation between two rival groups, an arrest report obtained by the outlet said.
Castillo faces five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, each charge carrying a $100,000 bond.
