It’s been a rocky week for NFL legend Tom Brady after he said he had “no dog in the fight” for Sunday’s Super Bowl matchup between his former team, the New England Patriots — with whom he won six Lombardi Trophies — and the Seattle Seahawks.
“I don’t have a dog in the fight in this one,” Brady said on the latest edition of the Let’s Go! SiriusXM podcast with Jim Gray. “May the best team win.”
His comments drew backlash from Patriots fans, local media, some of his former teammates, and even current players.
Despite his history with the Patriots, Brady — now a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders and a Fox Sports broadcaster — initially stayed neutral.
That changed late Friday night, when he posted a message for longtime Patriots owner Robert Kraft, encouraging him to go win his seventh Super Bowl.
"You know I got your back RKK," Brady wrote. "Get that 7th ring so we can match”

— Joe Schad (@schadjoe) February 7, 2026It’s only fitting that Brady shows support for Kraft, who was the owner of the Patriots throughout Brady’s entire career in Foxborough.
Kraft was also the one who approved a statue outside Gillette Stadium in Brady’s honor and waived the usual waiting period, allowing him to be inducted into the franchise’s Hall of Fame almost immediately.
Now, after a week of nonstop backlash, Brady is finally showing some support for his former owner and team ahead of their biggest game since they last reached the Super Bowl in 2019.
