Ferris Bueller did plenty of things on his day off.
But it wouldn't have been a proper day of adventure without a sporting event, and so Ferris and his friends went to Wrigley Field to watch the Chicago Cubs host the Atlanta Braves.
The movie features a real date for the trip to the ballpark: June 5, 1985.
That day, the Braves beat the Cubs, 4-2.

What happened in Cubs-Braves game in Ferris Bueller's Day Off?
The Braves scored two runs in the third, the Cubs answered with two in the fifth, and then the Braves put up two in the top of the 11th to take a 4-2 win in 11 innings.
The key blow was delivered by Rafael Ramirez in the 11th, a two-run home run off Lee Smith. It was just the second home run of the season for Ramirez.
Ramirez actually went 2-for-4, also delivering a two-run double, so he drove in all four runs in the Ferris Bueller game.
For the Cubs, it was Ron Cey who hit a two-run home run to account for both Chicago runs.
Larry Bowa also had two hits for the Cubs.
Of note, Bruce Sutter pitched three scoreless innings for the Braves.
Jeff Dedmon got the win out of the bullpen for the Braves with two scoreless innings.
Cubs starter Scott Sanderson went 10 innings and struck out 10, but couldn't get a win out of that performance, as Smith came on for the 11th and took the loss by giving up the Ramirez home run.
This wasn't the only major sports event of the day, either -- Celtics legend Dennis Johnson hit a buzzer-beater to win Game 4 of the 1985 NBA Finals for Boston on this same night.
Not a bad day off at all.
