Titans trade rumor explains why Tennessee didn't unload T'Vondre Sweat

Ahead of the Nov. 4 trade deadline, there were rumors swirling that perhaps the Tennessee Titans would trade 2024 second-round pick and defensive lineman, T'Vondre Sweat.

But as the 4 p.m. ET deadline passed on Tuesday, the Titans were quiet and didn't sell off any other pieces following their Monday trade with the Baltimore Ravens that unloaded Dre'Mont Jones.

After the deadline passed, NFL insider Jordan Schultz explained why the Titans held on to their defensive tackle.

"Sources: Despite significant league-wide interest, the Titans are not trading T'Vondre Sweat. They view him as a young, ascending cornerstone — a key part of their future plans — and have made it clear they’re not looking to move him," Schultz reported.

With the deadline in the books, the Titans only pulled off two trades, sending Roger McCreary to the Los Angeles Rams and Jones to the Ravens.

Now, the Titans will play out the string of this lost season and then will prepare for yet another coaching search that will hopefully land the right guy this time around.
