Titans cutting ties with 66-game starter should interest Eagles, Chiefs, Seahawks

The Tennessee Titans moved on from a veteran defensive back on Friday.

Tennessee cut L'Jarius Sneed just two years after they traded for him from the Kansas City Chiefs. Sneed appeared in 11 total games with the Titans before being released from his $76 million contract.

"Titans are releasing CB L'Jarius Sneed, which will save Tennessee $11.4 million against the cap, per sources," ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.

Sneed's best days are likely behind him, but the 29-year-old could still be a valuable piece to a team's cornerback room. The Philadelphia Eagles, Chiefs, and Seattle Seahawks come to mind as possible landing spots for Sneed.

Despite signing Riq Woolen and already having Quinyon Mitchell, Philadelphia could use more help on the boundary. Sneed would be a fantastic depth for the Eagles, and his veteran experience would make him a top-tier backup.

A return to Kansas City makes a lot of sense for Sneed. He established himself as one of the sport's top cornerbacks with the Chiefs, and with the franchise losing both Trent McDuffie and Jaylon Watson to the Los Angeles Rams, cornerback is a pressing need.

Seattle could also use some aid in their cornerback room with Woolen gone. Sneed could compete for a starting spot on the Seahawks' defense and allow Devon Witherspoon to be a full-time slot corner, where he excels the most.

If he can get healthy, Sneed should find his next team soon and look to get his career back on track.
