Stefon Diggs is in trouble once again.
Diggs, 32, was charged with felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery charges from an alleged Dec. 2 incident at his house, adding to a long list of off-the-field issues.
No stranger to controversy, the Patriots’ star wide receiver has had his fair share of issues before his latest legal problems emerged Tuesday.
One month before the felony charges came to light, online influencer Christopher Blake Griffith filed a complaint against Diggs alleging sexual battery, battery, conspiracy, intentional infliction of emotional distress and defamation.
The veteran pass catcher countered with a libel lawsuit in which he alleged that Griffith had fabricated his story.
In September, a woman named Aileen Lopera filed a paternity suit against Diggs, claiming he was her daughter, Charliee’s, father, which was later confirmed by a paternity test.
Just two months later, Diggs welcomed his first child with rapper Cardi B.
A few months after signing a three-year, $69 million deal with the Patriots last offseason, Diggs was seen on a boat passing around a mysterious pink substance to bikini-clad women, starting his tenure in New England on an awkward foot.
Despite everything going on in his personal life, Diggs has remained productive when on the field.
After missing most of the 2024 campaign due to an ACL tear suffered with the Texans, Diggs has caught 82 passes for 970 yards with four touchdowns without missing a game heading into Week 18.
Before coming to Foxborough, Diggs had tended to wear out his welcome, having spent five turbulent seasons with the Vikings before being traded to the Bills, where he spent four years before being dealt to the Texans ahead of the 2024 campaign.
