The Oklahoma City Thunder completely dismantled the San Antonio Spurs with a handy 127-114 win in Game 5. They go to San Antonio with a chance to book the spot in what would be their second straight NBA Finals appearance.
The defending champions hold an eye-popping success rate when leading 3-2 in a playoff series. They are 12-2 in such situations, giving them an 85.7% chance to set up the Finals date against the New York Knicks.

Key reason behind Thunder's domination in Game 5
The Thunder have been doing a good job, rendering Victor Wembanyama ineffective on defense over the last few games. The Defensive Player of the Year started the Western Conference Finals series with 24 and 17 rebounds in Games 1 and 2, respectively.
However, over the past three games, he has been held down from getting the boards.
Wembanyama, who finished third behind first-place Shai-Gilgeous Alexander in the NBA MVP voting, has posted four, eight and six rebounds in order from Game 3 onwards. The result: OKC won two of those three games.
In Game 5, particularly, Thunder catcher Isaiah Hartenstein finished with 15 boards and he defended well against Wemby. Meanwhile, Jaylin Williams did a good job of not allowing the Spurs star to get hot from beyond the arc as Wembanyama was 0-5 from the 3-point line.
It seems the Thunder has got the template to keep Wembanyama from being effective inside the paint.
