This Minecraft mod reimagines death in the game

Minecraft mods are known to introduce an array of new features and transform the vanilla world with many new gameplay mechanics. Now, the Requiem mod by Ladysnake reinvents death in the game, allowing players to continue their journey in a unique and interactive way.

How to install the Requiem Minecraft mod

The Requiem Mod for Minecraft can be installed using any mod loader that has Quilt or Fabric installed. For this guide, we have used Modrinth and its mod loader with Quilt running on game version 1.19.2.

Here's how you can download and install the Requiem Minecraft mod:

1. Head over to Modrinth and download the official launcher.
2. Once downloaded and logged in with your Mojang credentials, search for the Requiem Minecraft mod by Ladysnake. Alternatively, you can click on this link to get to the official Modrinth listing.
3. If you wish to install the Requiem mod manually, click on the green Download button and select the game version and platform.
4. Once done, download and place the ZIP file in the mods folder of your desired Minecraft instance. However, if you do not have Quilt installed or are new to installing mods and packs in Minecraft, it is recommended to use the Modrinth loader.
5. For installation using the launcher, click the green Download button, which will open up a deep link to the downloaded Modrinth app.
6. Once the app loads, you will be prompted to create a new instance or choose an existing Minecraft instance. While you can choose an existing instance, it is recommended to install the Requiem mod on a fresh instance of the game to avoid conflicts with existing mods, shaders, or data packs and eliminate the risk of world corruption.
7. Create a new instance and name it. After creating the instance, you will be redirected to the page. Wait for the mod and all its assets to get installed.

Once installation is complete, click the green Play button on the left to launch Minecraft with the Requiem mod successfully installed.

For manual installation of the Minecraft Requiem mod, install the Quilted Fabric API (QFAPI) / Quilt Standard Libraries (QSL) dependency to ensure the base mod functions as intended. Download and place it in the same folder as the mod to ensure it works flawlessly. If this seems too much, you can always opt for automatic installation with the Modrinth launcher, following the steps mentioned above.

The Requiem Minecraft mod is a unique pack that transforms the death mechanics in the game, offering players a new journey once their mortal coil expires. Once a player dies, they are given the choice between respawning as a human or continuing as a demon. Once a player dies, they will get a text screen that offers them this choice.

If a player chooses to continue as a demon, they unlock the soul mode. In this mode, the gamer can freeroam as a demonic spirit while they look for a host body to occupy. It must be mentioned that only soulless mobs like zombies, skeletons, golems, and others can be possessed. The demon will not be able to possess entities like villagers or animals.

Once a soulless mob is possessed, players will be able to roam around and use the powers of that entity. Zombies will be able to infect villagers and regular mobs as well as burn in the sunlight during daytime. Every time a new body is possessed, it increases the attrition level. This is a debuff that reduces the player's health by as much as 80%.

Apart from possessions, the Requiem Minecraft mod adds an array of status effects, unique powers, and blocks. Players can use empty soul vessels to trap and possess regular mobs or use obelisks to cast soul effects on nearby players. Additionally, the mortician is a powerful NPC that can offer powers as well as revive the demon to human form.
