Globe Soccer Awards 2025: Final results, winners and full rankings for Dubai soccer ceremony

1 hour ago 2

The Globe Soccer Awards will host its 16th annual gala in Dubai on Sunday, December 28 in Dubai, beginning at 7 p.m. GST (3 p.m. GMT / 10 a.m. ET).

The final of the three major football award shows each year, the Globe Soccer Awards will recognise the best players, coaches, and executives from around the world, while maintaining a Middle Eastern focus.

While some of last year's winners are again involved as they remain at the top of the game, others have given way to new nominees who are hoping to add a new trophy to their shelves.

The Sporting News looks through all the nominees and winners from the latest iteration of the awards.

What are the Globe Soccer Awards?

Founded in 2010, the Globe Soccer Awards are organized by their namesake, Globe Soccer. The gala has taken place each December or January in Dubai, United Arab Emirates to recognize the most prominent figures in the world of football.

The awards were founded by famed football agent Jorge Mendes along with Italian businessmen Riccardo Silva and Tommaso Bendoni. Mendes has won the Best Agent category almost every year.

"At the heart of Globe Soccer's mission is a commitment to honoring all facets of the beautiful game," reads the official website. "Their awards celebrate not just players, but the full spectrum of football stakeholders, from chairmen and agents to directors and referees."

Who won the Globe Soccer Awards? Final results

For the 2025 awards, there were five finalists for the Best Men's Player award with another five in the running for the Best Women's Player prize.

It's no surprise that the finalists for both categories are those who were also in the running for the Ballon d'Or and FIFA The Best as well, as the football community continues to pat itself on the back.

The Sporting News will update this page once the winners have been announced.

How are the Globe Soccer Awards winners decided?

The winners of the awards are decided by a vote — or, rather, two votes.

There is a fan poll, which ran from November 19 to November 27 and whittled down the nominees to a group of finalists. Then, a second public poll ran from December 3 to December 11, which also includes a vote from the awards jury. At the end of this voting period, the figures with the biggest level of support — the jury's vote counts for 80 per cent of the final calculation, and the initial public vote the other 20 percent — will win the awards. Those winners will then be announced at the gala on December 28.

The categories decided in this way are:

Best Men's Player
Best Women's Player
Best Men's Club
Best Women's Club
Best Coach
Best Midfielder
Best Forward
Emerging Player
Best Middle East Player

Who was on the Globe Soccer Awards jury?

A 28-person jury selected the nominees and finalists for the 2025 Globe Soccer Awards, including star former players, agents and administrators.

It is the same jury as the 2024 awards, with the one exception being the death of former Porto sporting director Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa who passed away in February.
