Mike Tyson, his son Miguel and The Heal Los Angeles Foundation are unveiling the next phase of their heartwarming partnership.
Entitled "The Passion Project," this initiative, which is an extension of Heal LA and Mike Tyson Cares, was recently unveiled by Miguel Tyson and Prince Jackson, and, per both companies, is a program dedicated to helping children from underserved communities across Los Angeles discover and follow their dreams. In the accompanying video for the announcement, both Tyson and Jackson give a glimpse into what the future holds for the project.
"I am here today to introduce something that we've been working on for a while, and it's very close to our hearts...The Passion Project," says Tyson in the initial announcement clip from February, with Jackson, who continues to carry on the charitable legacy of his father Michael Jackson, adding: "There are many young children and families in the greater Los Angeles area that are less fortunate than us, and did not have access to the resources and tools to discover something even as simple as what we are passionate about."

Fast forward three months later, the organizations held the official kick off for their initiative at Hayvenhurst, the historic compound of the legendary Jackson family, for a day full of fun. "Last Saturday was a special one at Hayvenhurst! We kicked off our newest initiative, The Passion Project, with the @TysonFoundation 🥊.," the organizations posted on Instagram.
"This initiative was started by @MiguelLionTyson, who believes every child deserves the opportunity to discover what they’re passionate about. The lucky students who are a part of our pilot year of the Passion Project are from @GospelMissionMBC and @LoretoStreetElementary ⛪️📚."
The comments were equally sweet and supportive, with one commenter writing: "@heallosangelesfoundation Great work guys, I would have LOVED to be a part of this program as a child! What a dream come true…🌊🫶🏽✨." Another added: "Great project, God bless you Prince and the Tyson family❤️❤️❤️❤️."
A follow up post noted that through the course of this summer, 20 incredible students will get the opportunity to explore their passions through experiences like voice acting, cooking, swimming, jiu-jitsu, STEM camp and more.
What an incredible opportunity for young kids!
