Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin appears to be a man in demand. According to reports, LSU and Florida are keen on luring Kiffin to their respective teams, amid Ole Miss giving the coach an ultimatum to decide on his future before the Egg Bowl against Mississippi State on Nov. 28.

On Friday, reports claimed that LSU is planning to offer Kiffin a $90 million offer to attract the coach to Baton Rouge. However, former Tigers offensive tackle Breiden Fehoko believes that LSU and Florida might tussle in a tug of war, only for Kiffin to remain at Ole Miss.

"Florida leaked the meeting with Lane’s Team last night. LSU leaked the contract numbers of their offer today. I gotta eerie feeling LSU/Florida are going to fight it out this next week in leaks all for Lane to say he’s staying put. This ain’t gonna end well for two programs," Fehoko tweeted on Friday.

Fehoko won the national title at LSU in the 2019 season.

After Ole Miss beat Florida in Week 12 on Saturday, Kiffin avoided a question on whether he would remain with the Rebels next season.

While Kiffin has remained non-committal about his future at Ole Miss, many are eagerly awaiting his decision.

On Wednesday, analyst Joel Klatt appeared on Colin Cowherd's "The Herd" show and offered his two cents on Lane Kiffin's uncertain future at Ole Miss, while adding that the coach could join Florida.

“Here’s the thing: If he (Kiffin) wanted to stay, he would stay and we would have already known it,” Klatt said. “Look at all the other coaches around the country that have said they’re staying or signed extensions. And Ole Miss, I know, has told him money is not a factor here. Whatever you get offered, we will match it. So it’s not that he’s going to make more somewhere else, which is starting to lead me to believe – and again, I will fully own I have been all over the map on this and Lane, but Lane is a unique cat. “Now, I don’t know if he can come back to Ole Miss. You can’t lead them on for this long. Now, there’s going to start to be animus. Like, ‘Why aren’t you signing an extension? What’s the problem?’ I think he’s going to Florida – I really do, and I think he’s going to be the next coach of the Gators, and I think that we’re going to have one of the biggest messes in college football history go down before the Playoff when Lane Kiffin steps away from a College Football Playoff team and goes to coach another team.”

Ole Miss hired Lane Kiffin in December 2019. He has led the Rebels to double-digit wins in four seasons.

A win over Mississippi State on Nov. 28 should be enough to secure a maiden College Football Playoff berth for Ole Miss this season.
