In the post-round press conference, Coughlin and Novak were asked about their performance and also their experience of competing in the mixed-field event. Coughlin said that their team has its eyes on winning the title and also revealed that Novak called the tournament the “grand slam” of team events. She said:

"I want to win. He said he's like the grand slam of team competitions tomorrow."

Novak added:

"Some are calling it the modern day grand slam. Zurich, Grant Thornton. Obviously thinking about my legacy a little bit tomorrow."

Andrew Novak reflects on a pivotal eagle at par-5 17th at Grant Thornton Invitational

Andrew Novak and Lauren Coughlin were pretty impressive with their game in the second round of the Grant Thornton Invitational. They carded an eagle on the 17th and settled for a round of 4-under 68.

In the post-round press conference, Andrew Novak opened up about the shot. He said (via Tee Shots):

"She hit a great tee shot. I was in prime position and didn't really do much out there. Kind of left the face open. I hit it fine, on the middle of the face. Face was open, left it right. Probably not the spot to miss, but didn't matter, she picked me up nicely there."

Coughlin also talked about their performance. She added:

"I think we hit a lot -- we just talked about we hit a lot of greens. I don't think we really had to chip today, which is always nice in alternate shot. You have it pretty stress free, just hit some putts and try to make birdies."

Andrew Novak has enjoyed an impressive season on the PGA Tour this year. He won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and is looking forward to his second win of the year. He was the runner-up at the RBC Heritage, recorded a solid T3 finish at the Valero Texas Open, solo third at the Farmers Insurance Open, and T7 at the RSM Classic.

The final round of the 2025 Grant Thornton Invitational is scheduled for Sunday. Play will start at 8:45 a.m. ET, and Coughlin and Novak will tee off at 10:30 a.m. ET in a group with Hull and Brennan.
