Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel recently spoke highly of Indian cricket stars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Her comments came during an event after she was asked about the absence of the senior stars from the T20I team.
Both Virat and Rohit announced their T20I retirements following the Men in Blue's 2024 T20 World Cup triumph. Ameesha expressed her desire to see the seasoned campaigners back in India's T20 team.
She also emphasized that Virat and Rohit don't need the Indian team, but it's the team that needs their services. The Gadar 2 actress said in a video posted by BollywoodHelpline on YouTube:
"We all want to see them. I can only say that superstar players like Virat and Rohit don't need the Indian team; the Indian team needs them. The Indian team needs them; they don't need the Indian team."Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were last seen in action earlier this month during India's 2-1 ODI series victory over South Africa at home. Virat looked in dazzling form, finishing as the highest run-scorer with 302 runs across three innings.
He struck back-to-back centuries (135 off 120 and 102 off 93) in the first two games and remained unbeaten on 65 off 45 balls in the third fixture. Rohit, on the other hand, finished with 146 runs from three outings.
