Following a seven-point home loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers Wednesday, the Charlotte Hornets dominated the Orlando Magic on the road Thursday, defeating the Magic by 27 points on the second night of a back-to-back.
With the win, the Hornets are now 7-3 this season on the second night of a back-to-back.
Following the victory, Charlotte moved to 17-28, 1.5 games behind the Milwaukee Bucks for 11th in the Eastern Conference.
This is especially impressive, considering the Hornets only won 19 games total last season.
With rookie additions Kon Knueppel, Sion James and Ryan Kalkbrenner, under head coach Charles Lee, it's clear to see that this Hornets team is no joke.
In Charlotte's last 15 games, the Hornets have the highest offensive rating, highest three-point percentage and they also lead the league in second chance points. Additionally, in that same span the Hornets are second in rebound percentage and fourth overall in net rating. Not many 12 seeds can say that.
These numbers prove the effectiveness of Charlotte's lineup when fully healthy, as the team dealt with injuries to LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, Grant Williams and Josh Green for most of the year.
With 37 games remaining in the regular season, the Hornets have a shot to move back into Play-In tournament contention, currently trailing the Atlanta Hawks by four games for the No. 10 seed.
In the meantime, Charlotte will hope to earn another win Saturday, facing the Washington Wizards at home.
