Former Manchester United star Nani has heaped praise on Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha for their impact at the club since joining in the summer. He believes that the duo has settled in well and are guiding the team forward.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Nani said that Mbeumo and Cunha have taken responsibility upfront and are fighting for the team in every match. He added that they have a bright future at Old Trafford and said:

"I think they are two players who made the difference since they came. They've been showing good signs, and they've improved. They've been getting comfortable with the team, and taking responsibility. Both players are making differences in games and scoring goals. I also like that they fight for the team on the field. These are the type of players we want in the club. The coach is building a strong team, which takes time, but we can see a very beautiful future with this, with these two players at the front of it."

Manchester United signed Mbeuno for a reported £65 million fee from Brentford in the summer, beating off competition from other Premier League sides. He has scored six goals so far and assisted once.

Cunha also had interest from other clubs in the league, but opted to join the Red Devils after they activated his £62.5 million release clause. He has scored three goals in his short spell so far, while assisting once.

Manchester United youngsters would have been punished by Sir Alex Ferguson, says Nani

Nani has claimed that discipline has become a big issue at Manchester United for manager Ruben Amorim. He claimed that Sir Alex Ferguson would not have accepted the social media digs from the likes of harry Amas and Chido Obi and told Daily Mail:

"If someone needed it, he would put a player to one side for a game, and usually they would learn straight away. If you were in trouble for any kind of bad behaviour, you would only play again when you changed. You need to accept the rules and then you need to follow the rules. For us in that time, that was the key. Nobody was bigger than the club. No player, not Ronaldo, not Rooney, not Giggs, nobody. If you’re behaviour wasn’t good enough, you were punished."

Manchester United finished 15th in the Premier League last season, and are currently seventh in the table after 17 games. They have picked up 26 points, but sit 13 adrift of the leaders, Arsenal.
