In The Witcher season 4, audiences are once again introduced to the war-ravaged Continent. In The Witcher season 4, Liam Hemsworth steps into Geralt of Rivia's shoes, presenting a tired monster slayer who is left with the physical and emotional scars of the war-torn season 3. This time around, Geralt is renewing trust, gathering a hansa, and safeguarding his family as well as Ciri and Yennefer.

As a staunch fan of the franchise, Hemsworth vigorously trained in sword combat for this role. He has prior experience as Gale Hawthorne in The Hunger Games series. He has also appeared in Independence Day: Resurgence and Isn’t It Romantic, as well as Netflix's Lonely Planet, starring alongside Laura Dern.

In an interview with Netflix Tudum, published on October 30, 2025, Hemsworth opened up about what it was like playing the character.

"By the time I stepped on the set, I felt really good and comfortable with a sword. Any day I put on the actual body armor … and then I put the contact lenses in, that’s when I really feel immersed in this character," he explained.

Anya Chalotra is back as the potent mage Yennefer of Vengerberg, who in The Witcher season 4 is turning her sorrow into power on a divided Continent and is isolated from Geralt and Ciri.

Chalotra balances Yen’s fierceness with her vulnerability and humanity while displaying her intellect. Before working on The Witcher, Chalotra starred in the BBC’s Wanderlust with Toni Collette and appeared in The ABC Murders.

Freya Allan as Princess Ciri

Freya Allan returns as Princess Cirilla, who at the beginning of The Witcher season 4 is living under the alias Falka and hiding among the rebellious gang known as the Rats. Without her powers, Ciri has taken on a tougher, rock’n’roll edge as she makes her way through the dangerous streets of Nilfgaard.

"What Falka represents is this darkness and this brutality and this very hard person, and there’s a coldness there," Allan expressed in the Netflix Tudum interview.

Allan is known for her performances in Baghead and The Third Day.

Laurence Fishburne as Regis

In The Witcher season 4, Laurence Fishburne plays the role of Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy. Regis is a tranquil yet enigmatic curator who has been around for centuries and is the first of the higher vampires.

In the interview with Tudum, Fishburne spoke about the impact his character will have on Hemsworth's.

"Geralt is becoming much more introspective in this season and is really struggling with some deeper emotions. He’s somebody that is not accustomed to embracing his emotions and expressing his emotions. And through his relationship with Regis, he’s becoming more and more comfortable with that as a way of being," he explained.

Fishburne is an Academy Award-nominated actor, best known for his role as Morpheus in the Matrix trilogy. He has also starred in Pee-wee's Playhouse as Cowboy Curtis, Boyz n the Hood, Black-ish, John Wick: Chapter 2, and Man of Steel.
