The Morning Show season 4 episode 7 ending explained: What was behind Bradley's actions in Claire's arrest?

The Morning Show season 4 put ex-UBA journalist Claire Conway as one of the central characters who brings tension to the latest episode. After two men die at an oil rig, Claire's environmental rebel group gets targeted for involvement by the FBI. Claire takes refuge in Yanko's apartment to hide from the authorities. Yanko goes on to ask for Bradley's help in the case. The FBI also threatened Bradley to disclose Claire's current location.

While Bradley makes every effort to make Claire open up to the FBI, the latter refuses and decides to leave the country. Bradley makes her situation with the authorities clear by informing them that Claire had left.

However, things take a turn when she finds Claire at UBN. She decides to prove her innocence on TMS live. Bradley realizes that this could lead her to jail and tries to convince her otherwise. When nothing works, Bradley calls the FBI and gets Claire arrested.

Why did the FBI want Bradley's help?

Bradley's return to UBN was because of Claire's updates on the Wolf River story, but the latest episode has put the two in a difficult position. In the latest drop, it is revealed to the viewers that Bradley's sudden meeting with an FBI handler in episode 5 was because of Claire.

The FBI had found out about Bradley's recent connections with Claire and wanted her to tell them her whereabouts, or she could be jailed. They had come to know about Bradley sharing the documents about the Wolf River case with Eagle News, who had then informed the FBI about the situation.

The FBI handler who approached Bradley mentioned how he trusted her and convinced his team to let her return to New York after all that had happened in her brother's case in the past. He informed her that involvement in Claire's case would have repercussions that could ruin Bradley's future. Hence, she tried to convince Claire to approach the FBI first, and then took the big step at the end of episode 7.

Why did Bradley get Claire arrested?

Upon failing to convince her, Bradley puts herself at risk and lies to the FBI handler that Claire had left the country. But when she learns of Claire's plan to appear in TMS, Bradley realizes that things would go south for her because of it.

Not only did she lie to the authorities for Claire, but the latter's appearance on the show would put Bradley in rough waters with the FBI. She would be put behind bars, and the chance to bring justice to the Wolf River victims would be lost. These reasons pushed Bradley to take such a risky step at the end, putting Claire's fate in danger. Things could turn difficult for her, Yanko, and Bradley ahead in the series.
