Jack Black was in the building for game two of the Los Angeles Lakers' matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves, and they got the comedian to recreate the iconic LeBron James "it's our ball" moment from the infamous bubble season.
The short story is, you can never pull a fast on James, who always has his eyes on everything. During the 2020 NBA bubble season (shudders in remembrance), the decision was made to mic James up for the game, and the results were simply legendary. During a possession, James questioned the referees over whether the Lakers should have the ball, but the nice manner he started out asking the question in, quickly elevated.
"It's our ball, ain't it? It's our ball! Hey! It's our ball!" Not only did the moment go viral then, but it continues to go viral nearly five years later, as it is commonly associated with the phrase "How do you say tree in Spanish?" Since the moment lives on, the Lakers got Jack Black to do his own version, and the rest is history.

Of course, fans couldn't get enough the recreation: "Rui getting a shout out knowing he wasn’t on the team that year," said one Lakers fan. "Jack Black is the reason the Lakers won Game 2," said another. And then there was this comment too, "Frank Volgel looks like Joe from impractical jokers I can’t unsee it at all."
Meanwhile, Black wasn't the only celebrity who pulled up to game two. Brenda Song and Macaulay Culkin were also among the celebs who showed up to support the Lakers for their victory. Sitting courtside, the couple showed off their custom Lakers jerseys, posing for pictures and smiling brightly. Aside from the custom jerseys they showed off, Song was also spotted wearing a black Lakers jersey with number 8 on it—an homage to the number the great Kobe Bryant sported during the first half of his career.
Game three of Lakers vs Timberwolves will take place on Friday, April 25 at 9:30pm EST.
