"The Giants have the worst DC": NFL analyst gets super critical of Giants DC Shane Bowen in OT Loss

3 hours ago 3

There were many times in the game that the New York Giants just needed to make key stop in the fourth quarter, and they didn't. When they took a 37-34 lead with 25 seconds remaining, a lot of Giants fans were ready to celebrate the win, until they left too much time on the clock for Dak Prescott.

New York played in a prevent defense and it ultimately costed them. Brandon Aubrey drilled the 64-yard field goal as time expired in regulation and also made a 46-yard field goal to win it as time expired. With the 40-37 win for the Dallas Cowboys, they improved to 1-1 on the season and the Giants are 0-2. Defensive coordinator Shane Bowen and the defense gave up 21 points in the fourth quarter. The defense has given up a lot of yards with the first two weeks of the season.

NFL Analyst Believes New York Giants Defensive Coordinator Shane Bowen Is the Worst in the NFL

Many Giants fans want Bowen fired as defensive coordinator and who can blame them at this point? Well, Dan Schneier of CBS Sports believes that Bowen is a horrid defensive coordinator. Schneier said,

"I don't care what anyone says -- that 2nd and long call was TERRIBLE. When they actually put defenders up on the LOS, it sped up Dak a bit. Playing your second and third level THIS FAR off the ball is just a terrible recipe. The Giants have the worst DC in all of football."

If analysts believes that the Giants have the worst defensive coordinator in football, then the defense is going to be in for a long season. Bowen has no idea how to use players like Dexter Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Abdul Carter, Brian Burns, and others on the defense. Some people believe he wouldn't know what to do if he had Myles Garrett and T.J. Watt on the same team.

If the Giants drop to 0-3 next week against the Kansas City Chiefs, head coach Brian Daboll may have no choice but to fire Bowen as defensive coordinator. There are a lot of things wrong with this football team. The Giants are a bunch of chronic losers with the way things have transpired over the last several seasons. They are 0-2 to start another season once again and they would be 1-1 if Bowen had any idea how to call a defense.
