The Dahlia and Firefly can be acquired from the gacha banners during the first half of Honkai Star Rail 3.8. Since both characters follow different Paths, their roles in a team are also dissimilar. As this title offers a limited amount of Stellar Jade, most players don’t have the option to get multiple characters in a single half (unless they have saved a lot).
If you don’t have both Firefly and The Dahlia, then it's better to get the former in Honkai Star Rail 3.8's first half. Here’s why.

Exploring the reasons why you should pull Firefly in Honkai Star Rail 3.8 first half
Firefly (Image via Sportskeeda Gaming || HoYoverse)As you may already know, both Firefly and The Dahlia excel in the Break Effect playstyle. However, the former specializes in dealing damage, while the latter is an amplifier/debuffer. In Honkai Star Rail 3.8's first half, you are better off getting Firefly if you don't have a BE DPS unit. Since Break Effect characters scale with different stats than most damage dealers, you’ll need a good carry first, which is the Stellaron Hunter.
Although Firefly has been in this title for some time, the amount of damage she can deal is absurd. Moreover, you can easily form a Super Break character with this Stellaron Hunter, as most of the supports and sustainers are easy to get.
Moving over to The Dahlia, she is just a support unit that increases the carry’s damage. Hence, if you pull for the new Nihility unit, you won't be able to use her if you don’t have a DPS unit. Which is why we recommend getting Firefly first (if you don't have her already), then other characters of your choice.
Advantages of Firefly over The Dahlia
- Firefly can deal a significant amount of damage.
- Can still be effective without a support character.
- One of the best units for endgame activities.
Advantages of The Dahlia over Firefly
- Can enhance her allies’ weakness break efficiency.
- The Dahlia can allow allies to deal Super Break without depleting the enemy’s toughness bar.
- Very easy to build.
While Firefly is still a good character to pull, you can also get The Dahlia during Honkai Star Rail 3.8’s first half. Otherwise, the Ever-Flame Mansion member is a solid pick.
