WWE's Friday Night SmackDown has been marred with controversies lately due to the declining quality of the show. Although Triple H has been experimenting with things every week, he has still failed to fix those problems and capture fans' interest in the blue brand. It looks like The Game has finally made a major move, as he may have subtly revealed SmackDown's newest signing.

[Disclaimer: This article contains spoilers for the upcoming episode of SmackDown]

Joe Hendry may have officially landed on the main roster as the newest member of Friday Night SmackDown. WWE taped the December 26 edition of the blue brand last night, where Hendry competed in a match against The Miz. It wasn't a normal match, it was a Christmas Street Fight. The 37-year-old also received a special segment before that, where he had a concert in the ring.

WWE doesn't normally give NXT stars extensive screentime on the main roster if it is only for a one-off appearance leading to nothing. The fact that Joe Hendry got a special segment on the two-hour show and also had a match with a Street Fight stipulation tells a different story. Triple H may have subtly declared the arrival of The Prestigious One on SmackDown.

The Friday night show has been struggling with a scarcity of babyface stars who can connect with the WWE Universe. Hendry is the perfect name to fill that void. His infectious energy and the unique ability to electrify crowds make him the biggest highlight. Therefore, WWE seemingly had no other option but to bring the NXT star to the brand to revive Friday Night SmackDown.

Joe Hendry may have officially become a part of the blue brand. Nick Aldis could make this announcement on the first SmackDown of 2026, which will kick off its three-hour format. It will be interesting to see how things shape up.

Triple H may run Joe Hendry's feud with The Miz till WWE Royal Rumble

Joe Hendry competed against The Miz on the upcoming epsiode of SmackDown, where he secured a huge victory. It doesn't look like things ended there. There is a high chance that Triple H can run this storyline for the next few weeks. If Hendry is officially called up to the main roster, he would require a massive spotlight.

The only way WWE can keep Joe's momentum intact is by featuring the 37-year-old in a major feud with a top star. And there couldn't be any better name than The Miz. The A-Lister is a perfect blend of star power and humorous heel that can make any storyline interesting for the fans.

Joe Hendry can therefore feud with The Miz in the weeks leading up to the Royal Rumble 2026. This could give The Prestigious One a major start to his main roster run on Friday Night SmackDown. This rivalry could work as a springboard in Hendry's rise to major storylines with high-profile stars.

Hence, Triple H can run this storyline on SmackDown for the coming weeks, stretching it all the way to Royal Rumble 2026. However, this is nothing but a speculation at this point.
