The Dallas Cowboys' postseason hopes are all but over, with the team needing a miracle to qualify with three games remaining in the season.

Despite their offense being one of the best in the league this season, legendary Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin said they have failed the team, as Dallas is not in the playoffs. He urged the team to prioritize winning the Super Bowl over records and stats on the "Dan Patrick Show."

“There is no grade to give outside of a failure grade,” Irvin said. “... I don’t want to hear how many records you broke this year, I don’t want to hear what you did in statistics. I want to hear wins and losses, and are you in the playoffs with a chance to win a ring—and they are not. That’s a failing grade.”

The Cowboys are 6–7–1 for the season after Sunday's 34-26 loss against the Minnesota Vikings, which essentially ended their playoff hopes. The Cowboys last won the Super Bowl in 1995 and have not gone past the divisional round since.

Following Sunday's loss, the Cowboys are left with a 1% chance of making the playoffs. The only scenario they make the postseason is when Dallas wins the remaining three games and the divison leaders, the Philadelphia Eagles, lose their remaining three.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott urges the team to fight despite slim postseason chances

Although the Cowboys' chances of making the postseason are unlikely, veteran quarterback Dak Prescott doesn't want the team to "give up."

“Unfortunately, I’m sure the playoffs are out of the picture,” Prescott said. “... You can’t just give up. You can’t just stop. You can’t just say, ‘Oh, we’re not going to the playoffs.’ It’s the National Football League. I just saw a team Thursday night that’s not going to the playoffs beat a good team and knock them out. “... Nothing’s going to change for me, and that’s going to be my influence as a leader. My message to anybody around me is take pride in who you are as a man and who you are as a football player and the job responsibility that you have and what that entails is giving your best every day. And if you don’t, you probably won’t be in this league for long.”

The Cowboys will face the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, followed by the Washington Commanders and the New York Giants in their remaining three games of the season.
