Lindsey Vonn slammed a troll for throwing shade at her amid her preparations for the Olympics. Vonn made her return to the sport after six years in November 2024 after undergoing a successful partial knee replacement surgery.
Vonn initially announced her retirement in 2019 after navigating a series of severe injuries. She sustained a major knee injury in November 2018, but decided to continue competing in the season a nerve damage and no LCL. Vonn announced that the 2018-19 season would be her last year to compete. She secured a bronze medal in downhill in Are, Sweden, in 2019, which was her last race before retirement.
Vonn returned to the sport at the age of 40. However, she constantly faced criticism, with trolls criticizing her for making a comeback at a later stage in her life. In a recent incident, she received a message on Instagram from a troll, who wrote an offensive and demeaning comment, stating:
"You are absolutely disgusting. No role model. Glad you are hurt, and I hope you miss the Olympics, you disgusting "American." Go ski into a tree."The remarks did not go over well with the American skier, who replied:
"One of the downsides of social media. Thank you for hoping I die Brad..."Vonn shared a screenshot of the conversation on her Instagram story.

But this cover means I’ve done a lot more in my life than just ski fast. "At 41, I’m still chasing dreams, still pushing limits, still believing in what’s possible. My hope is that anyone reading this remembers: never give up on yourself. Never stop dreaming."Following her comeback, Vonn has earned two podium finishes in 2025.
