Texas and Arch Manning on College Football Playoff watch in latest projections

Week 10 of the 2025 college football season brought us one less undefeated team with Georgia Tech falling to NC State, Miami's Playoff hopes all but gone, Texas surging back into the conversation and a two-team Big Ten race emerging.

Many of the top teams continue to separate themselves from the rest of the pack, while others are making their final push for the postseason.

On Saturday, Texas Longhorns knocked off a top-10 Vanderbilt Commodores team at home, strengthening their case for a final Playoff push. With less than a month to the final rankings, CBS Sports has shaken up its Playoff projections under 12-team format.

First Round Projections

Game 1: No. 12 Memphis Tigers at No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs

Georgia is riding a four-game win streak after an early-season setback to Alabama, including a home win over a top-five Ole Miss squad. Memphis, at 8-1, remains the top Group of Six contender with three challenging games remaining.

Game 2: No. 11 Notre Dame Fighting Irish at No. 6 Oregon Ducks

A pairing of national-brand programs. Notre Dame made last year’s title game, while Oregon missed out after being last season’s No. 1 seed.

Game 3: No. 10 Texas at No. 7 BYU Cougars

Texas has rebounded with four straight wins. BYU remains the lone undefeated squad in the Big 12 and is gaining momentum.

Game 4: No. 9 Ole Miss Rebels at No. 8 Georgia Tech

Ole Miss improved to 8-1 after a convincing win over South Carolina. Georgia Tech, fresh off its first loss, must show resilience if it hopes to remain in the field.

Quarterfinal Projections

Rose Bowl: Ohio State Buckeyes vs. TBD

The Buckeyes remain undefeated after Week 10 and are shaping up for a deep run.

Sugar Bowl: Texas A&M Aggies vs. TBD

Texas A&M is 8-0 for the first time in over two decades and leads the SEC standings with momentum heading into the stretch.

Orange Bowl: Indiana Hoosiers vs. TBD

Indiana currently holds the No. 2 position in CBS’s view and could contend for the No. 1 overall seed.

Cotton Bowl: Alabama Crimson Tide vs. TBD

Alabama, after an early loss, has reeled off seven straight victories and is playing at an elite level.
