The Texans have signed former Eagles and Patriots safety Jalen Mills. This move comes after an injury to safeties C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Jaylin Reed, and the arrest of Jimmie Ward. Mills can provide value to the Texans as another starter who can fill in next to Calen Bullock.
Mills has played in 115 games, totalling eight interceptions, 449 total tackles, and 59 pass deflections. Mills posted a 63.7 PFF grade last season with the New York Jets.
Mills will look to compete for a roster spot along with an interim starting role as the Texans navigate an injury and a legal situation with three of their safeties.
New Texans safety Jalen Mills had an INT off CJ Stroud in his first preseason drive in the NFL.
I remember Stroud detailing that this was a trick by Bellicheck that he hadn’t seen before. https://t.co/VPCD2ARh1K
