A former first-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers has found a new NFL home in the AFC West.
According to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Terrell Edmunds is signing with the Las Vegas Raiders. The team later confirmed the news.
"We have signed free agent S Terrell Edmunds. In a corresponding move, we have waived/injured WR Seth Williams," the Raiders announced.
Edmunds was selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Steelers. The 28-year-old's first stint in Pittsburgh lasted five seasons, where he started 75 games and snagged five interceptions.
The Steelers declined his fifth-year option ahead of the 2021 season, meaning he hit free agency after the 2022 season.
Pittsburgh decided to let Edmunds walk, as the Virginia product didn't live up to high expectations as a Round 1 selection. After leaving the Steel City in 2022, Edmunds bounced around multiple teams, playing short stints with the Philadelphia Eagles, Tennessee Titans, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
In September 2024, the Steelers brought back Edmunds. However, after appearing in just five games in his return to Pittsburgh, the team cut him in November.
Edmunds will look to get his career back on track in Las Vegas, where he will be competing for a depth role in the safety room behind the Raiders' starters at the position, Jeremy Chinn and Isaiah Pola-Mao.
