Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud had a horror end to the 2025 season, getting beaten by the New England Patriots.
Stroud threw four first-half interceptions in the game, and it has led to quite the commentary since, with many now doubting whether the Texans should pay Stroud top-of-the-market money.
Still with his fourth year coming and then the fifth-year option, Houston at least has time to evaluate C.J, but his production has dropped with each season following his rookie year.
Some are out on him as a franchise quarterback, but his teammate, Nico Collins, isn't one of them, as he told C.J. what he thought of him after that crushing playoff loss.
"Our goal was to go to the Super Bowl, but things happen," Collins said via KPRC2's Aaron Wilson. "Just keep being you, brother. Don't let this one game define who you are. We all know who you are. Keep being a star. Keep being a leader you are. Keep being the light in the room and just keep being you.
"The dude's a baller, man. One freak of an athlete. So, I'm excited for next year. Just can't wait to get back on the field with the guys, get back grinding, and continue to be great."

Should Houston extend Stroud?
The first thing Houston has to ask itself is, will Stroud be the one to lead them to a Super Bowl? If the answer is yes, then go ahead and do it.
But if there is any doubt, hold off. We have seen the Tua Tagovailoa situation in Miami, and the Texans won't want that.
With the 2026 season and then, if needed, C.J.'s fifth-year option in their back pocket, the Texans have two years to see more of Stroud's trajectory.
If he improves, great, but if he continues to play as he is now, a conversation might need to be had.
Because right now, the jury is out on Stroud being "the" guy to lead the Texans to glory.
