Tempers flare between Kevin Durant and Bruce Brown as they explain their scuffle

The Houston Rockets won a heated game between them and the Denver Nuggets on Saturday on the back of Kevin Durant's 31-point night. However, that was not the biggest story of the night, as it was Durant's scuffle with Nuggets wing Bruce Brown that captured everyone's attention.

It was a game filled with heated moments, as Nuggets head coach David Adelman was ejected after he blew a fuse at the referee. Despite that, Brown and Durant's feud looked personal, and after the game, Brown voiced his displeasure at the two-time Finals MVP.

Brown was unhappy with Durant's comments

After Brown scored a floater in the third quarter, he and Durant exchanged words. It was a heated argument because they were jawing and pointing at each other. For Brown, this was a disrespectful moment from Durant, whom he once considered a friend.

Now, it looks like that relationship is strained because Brown went off on Durant in the post-game press conference. They were once teammates during their time with the Brooklyn Nets, but it appears the friendship is in the past following Saturday's scuffle.

"It's been cool, but I think it's been cut slow now. After tonight, some words were said that were a little disrespectful. Boy, I can't wait to see them next time... As a man, there are certain things you don't say to another man... I wish there was fighting, I wish we didn't get a fine," Brown said to the media after the game.

Durant believes crossing the line is part of the game

Durant is also known for being vocal about his grievances, so he welcomed the question about Brown's comments. He made sure to point out that NBA players must have thick skin when it comes to trash talk on the court, as that is the way some players get motivated to perform better.

Over the years, Durant has played against many elite defenders and trash-talkers. This has led to him being one of the best scorers in NBA history, as he knows that they will be looking to frustrate him.

"It's basketball, it's all between the lines. Ain't no respect, ain't no love. People don't show love to me; they cross the line a lot with their physicality. It's part of the game. Some people can talk and play, some people can't. I had to learn how to talk and play as a player, and I think Bruce is learning the same thing," Durant said to Brendan Vogt of DNVR Sports.

In this instance, it appears that Durant and Brown exchanged some words, and the latter did not like what he heard. No love is lost between the two players, and it looks like Denver and Houston will have more heated matchups later in the season.
