The 2025 year was a remarkable one for Team USA, as it saw the elite athletes, including Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Noah Lyles, and Anna Hall, earn the highest achievements at the sport's highest competition. American athletes showed their unparalleled skills in track and field, swimming, and gymnastics competitions.
After dominating the 400m hurdles event for years, the four-time Olympic gold medalist McLaughlin-Levrone also dominated the flat 400m event at the 2025 World Athletics Championships. At the same competition, Paris Olympics 100m champion Lyles showed his dominance in the 200m. Ryan Crouser secured his third consecutive gold medal in the shot put event in Tokyo.
Along with athletics, American gymnasts also executed an unmatched performance in 2025, especially at the World Championships held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from October 19–25. The Paris Olympics bronze medalist in the team event topped the horizontal bar event at the World Championships for the second time. His teammate Donnell Whittenburgh also stood in the highest place on the podium in the rings event at the same competition.
The legendary American swimmer Katie Ledecky also showcased her peerless dominance in the 800m and 1500m freestyle events at the World Championships held in Singapore from July 11 to August 3, 2025.
