Tarik Skubal took to the mound for a rehab start on Sunday for the West Michigan Whitecaps.
The High-A opposition was no match for Skubal, and that created a good problem.
The Detroit Tigers were happy with Skubal going five innings, but he was so dominant that he actually hadn't maxed out his pitch count for the day.
After finishing his five innings, Skubal went back out to the bullpen to throw a little longer.
In the game itself, Skubal wasn't touched.
He went 5.0 innings, allowing two hits with no walks, and struck out six. He threw 44 of his 54 pitches for strikes, and his fastball touched 99 miles per hour.
Yeah, he looks healthy.

It seems like, after this, the Tigers will already consider whether it's time to bring Skubal back to the major leagues.
Given his importance to their rotation, and his potential value as a trade chip, they won't want to rush him, though.
It's probably safe to expect another rehab start for Skubal -- potentially up the ladder at Triple-A Toledo -- before anything else happens with the southpaw.
But for one day, the Tigers can breathe a bit easier again. Skubal is on his way, and he looks just like himself.
