Los Angeles Dodgers utility man Kike Hernandez has hit back against ESPN journalist Ariel Helwani, who called the outfielder out for his minimal role in helping the club win the 2025 World Series.

Hernandez won his third World Series after his team defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 in Game 7. During the Dodgers World Series parade in LA, Hernandez boasted about his three rings and even quoted MMA star Conor McGregor during his speech.

On Thursday, Helwani called out Hernandez, citing how the outfielder almost cost the Dodgers the World Series by losing sight of Ernie Clement's flyball in the ninth inning before Andy Pages came in and saved the game.

"Yamamoto can talk all the s*it he wants, just like Vlad could have and did," Helwani wrote on X. "Stars who delivered are allowed. I had an issue with the bit players who got an A on the project - aka did nothing and played like shite - talking smack."

In his podcast, Helwani also mocked the Dodgers, calling them "jacka**es" for how they behaved after the World Series win, especially during the parade.

When Hernandez came across this comment on social media, he decided to hit back at the journalist, boasting that his three titles didn't come out of nowhere.

"suck it @arielhelwani!! LOSER! Does 3x WS Champ sound better than Triple Champ?"

Helwani also got playful in the comments section, writing:

"Congrats on getting an A on the group project Kike Hernandez. Great Read On that Clement Fly Ball Bro."

Hernandez replied:

"Ariel Helwani got me good there! L"

Ariel Helwani trolls Kike Hernandez after Dodgers star made mess while channeling inner Conor McGregor

During the Dodgers' World Series parade, Kike Hernandez referenced MMA star Conor McGregor's UFC 250 interview in his speech. Ariel Helwani called him out for fumbling. Helwani said:

"And then the Kiké Hernández thing, did you guys see it? He quoted the famous Conor McGregor UFC 205 interview, ‘I apologize to no one,’ but the setup was just… he fumbled his way through it, if we’re being honest."

The 2025 World Series title adds another ring to Kike Hernandez's resume. While he didn't play a major role in the series against the Blue Jays, batting just .179, but that wasn't the case in 2020 nor in 2024.
