At the end of the first half, the Bills had a 21-13 lead over the Chiefs. Allen scored two total touchdowns while Andy Reid's team relied on Harrison Butker's two field goals and Rashee Rice's rushing touchdown.
The quarterback helped his team build on this momentum after halftime. Allen scored another touchdown, but the Chiefs saw a glimmer of hope in the fourth quarter after Kareem Hunt rushed to the end zone and Mahomes converted a two-point attempt.
Unfortunately, it was too late for the Chiefs to make a comeback against the Bills. Josh Allen ended the night completing 23 of 26 passes for 273 yards and three total touchdowns. He joined Hall of Fame RBs Marshall Faulk, Jim Brown and LaDainian Tomilson to have six rushing touchdowns in the first eight seasons of his career.
Josh Allen expresses joy after Sunday's victory over the Chiefs
After the final whistle, the Bills quarterback joined CBS Sports' Tracy Wolfson for an interview. Allen expressed his excitement about winning at home against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. He highlighted how it was teamwork that helped them secure the win on Sunday.
"It was a team effort," Allen said. "A lot of hard work went into this. Had a great week of practice, a really good gameplan. Guys came out, made some plays. And we made one more than they did and that's all that matters. "Just trusting my feet, trusting the 10 players around me. That's really all that it comes down to. Going out there trying to make the decisions, put the ball where it needs to be."The Bills now have a two-game winning streak and have secured a 6-2 record. They are next scheduled to face the Dolphins next Sunday at 1 p.m. ET
