Troy Aikman does not believe what his former boss is saying, and he has made that clear.

On Monday, the Dallas Cowboys owner claimed that he had finalized at least one trade that would be consummated at the deadline on November 4. However, he refused to give other details other than that it would resolve some pressing issues right away:

“Immediately it will have him on the field and it will address some of the things that have been our shortcomings.”

But just before ESPN's coverage of the Cowboys' game against the Arizona Cardinals began, Aikman already expressed doubts about Jones' veracity.

The former quarterback began by saying that merely trading for a player would not help the defense, which has been among the worst in the league. He then continued:

“I don’t know what that move is, I don’t know who it might be. I think it’s interesting that you announce there’s a trade, but you’re not going to announce who it is. What do they have to give up, and what exactly does that look like? I guess we will all be evaluating that tomorrow sometime.”
