Perez Hilton weighed in after Kristen Bell came under fire for what many called a “tone-deaf” anniversary post celebrating her marriage to actor Dax Shepard. In his October 26, 2025, article published on his website, the podcaster remarked:

“Kristen Bell is sticking to her guns.”

In this website article, Hilton explained that the Nobody Wants This star has “had quite the week.”. He then detailed the backlash Bell had faced after her October 18 Instagram post marking 12 years of marriage.

In her anniversary post’s caption, Bell attempted a tongue-in-cheek tribute to Shepard, and she wrote:

“Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: ‘I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I’m heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would.’”

Referencing Kristen Bell’s caption, Hilton added that many social media users found the caption insensitive, particularly because it appeared to make light of domestic violence.

“Fans made it known they didn’t appreciate Kristen making light of a very real issue many women actually deal with on a daily basis, but she has yet to address the controversy in any way,” Perez Hilton wrote

Podcaster Perez Hilton weighed in on the ongoing controversy surrounding Kristen Bell’s recent social media caption, which had stirred strong reactions online.

In an article published on his website, Hilton also discussed a Daily Mail report dated October 25, 2025, which claimed that Bell’s choice of words was an “intentional choice” and that she had no plans to issue an apology.

According to the Daily Mail, those expecting an apology from the Frozen star might be waiting in vain. Citing sources close to the actress, the outlet reported that Bell was “digging in her heels” and refusing to take down the post.

An insider told the Daily Mail:

“Many would have liked her to apologize or take down the post, but she hasn’t, and the post is still there. She doesn’t want to be told how to live her life or be bullied into doing something she doesn’t want to do.”

The insider also claimed that Kristen Bell believed the outrage was exaggerated. According to them, the actress felt that if people weren’t “going to laugh about it,” then that was “their problem.” She reportedly believed there were “bigger issues in the world” than what she had written in the caption.

The insider further added that if Bell were “given the chance to do it all over again,” she would still do it.

Highlighting these quotes, Perez Hilton noted that it reflected Kristen Bell's defiance and unwillingness to bow to public pressure. He responded critically, writing that by calling it “bullying,” Bell missed the point. He further added that people were upset because her caption made light of “a very REAL and very BIG real-world issue.”

Hilton also pointed out that the insider had ominously warned that “eventually what comes around goes around,” and that this was “reportedly shaping up to already be the case” within Bell’s “inner circle.”

“Many close to Kristen are happy she is getting heat over her comments because she often never sees how her words—whether she thinks she says them in jest or not—can actually hurt people. Kristen goes through her days unscathed. It seems like she treats all situations she’s involved in as if she’s in the right at all times,” Hilton wrote, citing the insider.

He further reported that, according to the Daily Mail insider, Kristen Bell always had an “‘I am better than you’ mentality,” which was rubbing “some people the wrong way.” So it was "not a surprise" that she had not apologized, because she did not "ever think" she was wrong.”

Wrapping up his commentary, Hilton noted that, as per the insider, Bell’s husband, actor Dax Shepard, was reportedly standing by her throughout the controversy.

According to the Daily Mail source, Shepard was “in full support” of everything Bell had decided to do from that "moment forward." As per the source, the actor “thought the post was funny” and was “sticking” to his wife like “Will Smith sticks to Jada.”

“From one lightning rod couple to another… LOLz!” Hilton remarked

Kristen Bell is currently promoting the second season of her Netflix series Nobody Wants This, which came out on October 23, 2025
