Stephanie McMahon surprises Trish Stratus; WWE Hall of Famer reacts

Stephanie McMahon recently surprised WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus on her 50th birthday. The former co-CEO sent Stratus a birthday present, which contained 50 roses in different shades of pink. Stratus thanked Stephanie on her X account and wrote a message for her.

"So you think my sending me 50 long-stem roses in varying shades of pink, nestled among baby's breath for my 50th birthday, I'm just gonna forget everything," he said.

Stephanie and Trish Stratus had a storied rivalry nearly 20 years back. The two clashed at No Way Out in 2001, when Stratus defeated Stephanie to win her maiden WWE Women's Championship. That was the only time the two clashed against each other. It was a romantic storyline which involved Stratus' kayfabe affair with former Chairman, Vince McMahon.

Trish Stratus went on to become the face of the women's division in WWE after that. She became a Hardcore Champion and won the WWE Women's Championship a record number of seven times.

She retired in 2006, but returned to the company in 2008 at the first-ever women's Royal Rumble match. In 2013, she was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Stratus then returned at the women's Royal Rumble event in 2018, and next year, she got into action against Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam.

She also competed in the Royal Rumble 2020 event. Then she returned in 2023 and won the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship with Becky Lynch. She turned on a heel and feuded with The Man, and the two clashed at Payback 2023.

The Hall of Famer then returned two years later at the Royal Rumble 2025. After Rumble, she started appearing on SmackDown and got into a heated storyline with Nia Jax and Candice LeRae. She teamed up with the then Women's Champion, Tiffany Stratton, and defeated Nia and Candice at the Elimination Chamber event.

Her last in-ring action came at WWE Evolution on July 13, 2025, where she squared off against Tiffany Stratton for the Women's Championship. Although she lost the match, Trish received a standing ovation from the fans. That was her last match in the company.

Recently, Stratus was seen at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13, 2025, to see John Cena's retirement match.

Trish Stratus can return at the WWE Women's Royal Rumble match in 2026

The Hall of Famer can return to the company at the Royal Rumble PLE next year on January 31, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It's the first time that the Royal Rumble event is taking place outside North America.

Even though she isn't expected to win the bout, Stratus' appearance can increase the hype in the women's Rumble match. It remains to be seen if the 50-year-old former Diva star has any interest in competing in Saudi Arabia.
