Kon Knueppel made NBA history in the first quarter of the Charlotte Hornets' 139-132 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night. NBA fans online reacted to Knueppel's record-breaking accomplishment, with some even comparing him to Steph Curry.

With his first 3-point shot of the game, Knueppel became the fastest player in league history to make 100 from beyond the arc. He did it in just 29 games, which was way faster than the previous record held by Lauri Markkanen.

The then-Chicago Bulls rookie set the record in 41 games, but Knueppel did it 12 games faster. The Hornets sharpshooter is currently second in 3-point shots made this season with 104, just behind Donovan Mitchell's 111. He's ahead of Steph Curry, who has 99 entering tonight's game against the Orlando Magic.

NBA fans reacted to Kon Knueppel's record-breaking night on X, formerly known as Twitter. Some were hyped at the rookie's accomplishment, while others even compared him to Steph Curry. He's not on pace to break Curry's single-season record for 3-pointers made, but he could break the rookie record held by Keegan Murray.

Here are some of the comments on X.

Steph Curry replacement is here

He’s gonna take Curry’s chain in 15yrs

NBA’s new splash bro landed this season

In a world where Steph Curry exists, this is insane.

This is an impressive record and achievement for him. Keep shining and continue producing good moments

I believe that records are meant to be broken, and I think he will continue to create and surpass historical records

Kon Knueppel is one of the best rookies in this year's class, alongside Duke teammate Cooper Flagg, VJ Edgecombe, Cedric Coward, Derik Queen and Jeremiah Fears. Knueppel is averaging 19.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game, with shooting splits of 47/41/92.

The Hornets might have found their small forward for the future, who seemingly fits in with Brandon Miller. LaMelo Ball is still young, but there have been rumors that he could be available for trade.

Aside from being a sharpshooter on the court, Kon Knueppel is known for being open about his Christian faith. Knueppel opened up about his pregame routine involving a chapel visit in an appearance on the "Non-Microwaved Truth" podcast with C.L. Whiteside last month.

"I think one of the cool things the NBA does is about an hour before tip, there's chapel, before every game," Knueppel said, according to Sports Spectrum. "Obviously, the lifestyle of an NBA player, you're not home to go to church on Sunday, which is tough. It's tough not be part of a home congregation, but being able to have that chapel opportunity before every game is awesome because there's 82 games."

Knueppel sees other athletes like Tim Tebow, C.J. Stroud and Brock Purdy as his role models for being open about their faith.
