Steelers trade rumor could be of interest to Giants, Eagles and Broncos

The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly expected to trade one of their starting linebackers this offseason and three teams that could have interest are the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants and Denver Broncos.

That Steelers linebacker is Patrick Queen and the report comes from Nick Harris of the Forth Worth Star-Telegram, who said the following:

"After a down year in 2025, Pittsburgh and [Patrick] Queen are expected to part ways this offseason, and a trade seems imminent for the former first-round pick," Harris reported.

Queen was once considered one of the better linebackers in the league before he signed a three-year, $41 million contract with Pittsburgh in 2024, but he has not exactly lived up to that deal and is now entering the final year of it.

When at his best, Queen is an average run defender and an above-average coverage linebacker. We saw that in 2023, when he posted Pro Football Focus grades of 64.8 and 74.8 in those areas.

Queen's ability as a blitzing linebacker has never wavered, though, and he was strong once again in that area in 2025 with a 74.3 grade.

Harris has previously reported that the Dallas Cowboys and Eagles were among the teams to have interest in Queen, but Dallas has since pulled out of trade talks.

"Dallas had some intrigue in the building, but the team officially pulled out of its preliminary interest Thursday afternoon," Harris reported.

It's not hard to see why the Eagles would have interest. After all, they lost Nakobe Dean in free agency and should look to add to a position that is currently led by Jihaad Campbell and Zack Baun.

The Giants signed Tremaine Edmunds to replace Bobby Okereke, and then Big Blue re-signed Micah McFadden, but he is also coming off an injury-plagued season and New York might not feel comfortable with him as a starter.

In Denver, the Broncos cut ties with Dre Greenlaw and are staring at a starting duo of Justin Strnad and Alex Singleton, but Strnad is a key special teams player and has never been a full-time starter.

We find it hard to believe the Steelers will trade Queen at this point, as they don't have a replacement on the roster.

However, because of Harris' report, this remains a situation to monitor.
