Steelers trade prediction adds young $9 million quarterback to compete with Will Howard

The Pittsburgh Steelers added quarterback Will Howard in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL draft in the hopes that he could be a long-term solution at the position.

However, seeing as how he's a late-round pick, there is simply no guarantee that Howard will pan out, which would leave the team with a major question mark for the future, even if Aaron Rodgers is signed.

In the opinion of Bleacher Report's Moe Moton, the Steelers should look to trade for Tennessee Titans quarterback, Will Levis.

"If the Steelers finish the 2025 season with a mediocre record and Rodgers only sticks around for one year, they would at least have an experienced young starter in Levis, whom they can develop for the long term," Moton wrote. "In seven seasons, Mason Rudolph has been a game manager. At 25, Levis, with his big arm and mobility, has far more upside."

Taken in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft, Levis looked like he could be a long-term solution in Nashville with some impressive performances that displayed his plus mobility and immense arm talent.

Unfortunately, his sophomore campaign was a total disaster.

Levis' season was marred by awful decision-making and countless turnovers, which led to him getting benched in favor of Mason Rudolph, who is now back with the Steelers but isn't a viable long-term answer.

It is worth noting that Levis had a terrible situation around him in Tennessee. The Titans had an awful offensive line and a wide receivers group that lacked legitimate options outside of Calvin Ridley.

The Titans decided to bail on Levis in favor of Cam Ward, who was taken with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 draft. Now, the expectation is that Levis isn't long for Nashville and could be traded.

The Steelers could find Levis' skill set intriguing and he may very well thrive in offensive coordinator Arthur Smith's offense, which is more quarterback-friendly than most.

Smith also has experience reviving a quarterback's career, which he did with Ryan Tannehill in Tennessee.

For the cheap price it would cost to acquire Levis, it makes sense for the Steelers to take a flyer on him as added competition for the future of the quarterback position in Pittsburgh.
