The 2025 NFL draft is finally upon us and the Pittsburgh Steelers will first be on the clock with the No. 21 overall pick in the first round on Thursday night.
The Steelers have a grand total of six picks in this year's event, with one in each round but the second. That pick went to the Seattle Seahawks in the trade for DK Metcalf last month.
Pittsburgh's sixth-round pick came from that trade and was initially the Chicago Bears'. The seventh-round pick was initially the Atlanta Falcons', but that was traded to the Steelers in the Kenny Pickett deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Now, here's a look at the full list of selections the Steelers have, and which spot each one is in. We'll also take a look at some of the team's biggest needs, which include quarterback and the defensive line.
Steelers 2025 NFL draft picks
- Round 1, Pick No. 21: DL Derrick Harmon, Oregon
- Round 3, Pick No. 83: RB Kaleb Johnson, Iowa
- Round 4, Pick No. 123: EDGE Jack Sawyer, Ohio State
- Round 5, Pick No. 156
- Round 6, Pick No. 185 (from SEA)
- Round 7: Pick No. 229 (from PHI)
Steelers NFL draft needs
Quarterback: The Steelers are hoping to land Aaron Rodgers, but even if they do, the team does not have a long-term solution at the position. Currently, Pittsburgh doesn't have a viable starter under contract, either.

Defensive line: The Steelers cut Larry Ogunjobi earlier this offseason and need an upgrade next to Cam Heyward and someone who can take the torch from him once he inevitably hangs up his cleats.
Running back: Jaylen Warren is penciled in to start, with Kenneth Gainwell and Cordarrelle Patterson behind him. Warren and Gainwell are better suited as complementary backs, so a starter is needed.
Wide receiver: The Steelers could still use more depth, even after the trade for DK Metcalf. The need here becomes more dire if the team plans on trading George Pickens.
Offensive tackle: The jury is still out on Troy Fautanu, and Broderick Jones took a big step back with a lackluster showing in his second season. If nothing else, Pittsburgh could use more depth behind those two.
Safety: If Minkah Fitzpatrick has another lackluster showing in 2025, the Steelers may decide to cut ties with him. DeShon Elliott is also slated to be a free agent in 2026.
Cornerback: On top of needing an heir-apparent for Darius Slay, who is on a one-year deal, Pittsburgh doesn't have a sure answer at slot cornerback and could use more competition for Beanie Bishop.
