Steelers' Aaron Rodgers could have big opportunity against Patriots

A win is a win, and Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers pulled off just that in their opening game of the season against the Atlanta Falcons, 20-13. Sure, it wasn't a blowout, and maybe it should have been, but it got the Steelers off to a 1-0 start for the year.

Rodgers and the Steelers have an opportunity against their next opponent, the New England Patriots. Last season, the Terrible Towel crew will remember that the Steelers made things really hard for Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, and he was forced into mistakes. This team could make things fun again for the Steelers and do it all over again, giving Rodgers the chance to get points on the board without much opposition.

Now, the NFL's Week 2 is here, and the Steelers face the Patriots on Sunday.

Patriots' Drake Maye could face another tough test against Steelers

In a feature from ESPN released on Friday, the ESPN staff points out that Maye "threw a career-high three interceptions in Week 1. The Steelers have forced multiple turnovers in nine games since the beginning of last season, tied for third most in the NFL." The Patriots fell in their opening game to the Seahawks, too. That's music to the ears of Steelers fans.

Basically, if Pittsburgh's defense can keep creating extra possessions, Rodgers and the Steelers' offense could have more chances to control the game. It would be just like last season all over again.

"The Steelers got a nice win against the Patriots last season by forcing Maye into tons of uncharacteristic mistakes in the pocket," NFL analyst Ben Solak states. "The Patriots come into this game against Pittsburgh desperate for a win after back-to-back embarrassing losses to Seattle."
