Stan Wawrinka will face Flavio Cobolli in the second group-stage match of the United Cup.

Wawrinka has announced his retirement from professional tennis at the end of the year. He had a decent season last year, amassing runner-up finishes in the Aix-en-Provence and Rennes Challenger. He also reached the last 16 in Basel, but lost to Casper Ruud in straight sets.

Cobolli will enter the United Cup after a historic win with Italy in the Davis Cup Finals. He won all of his matches against Austria, Belgium, and Spain to help them win the crown. The 23-year-old will be eager to begin the new season on a clinical note.
