San Antonio Spurs star center Victor Wembanyama has scored 41 points in two consecutive games.
Unfortunately, he won’t get to add to that streak against the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night.
Victor Wembanyama ruled out vs. Clippers due to right ankle injury management
Wembanyama has been officially ruled out against L.A. due to right ankle injury management. It will be just the fourth missed game of this calendar year for Wembanyama, who has been on an absolute tear as of late.
On the season, Wembanyama has played in 61 games for San Antonio and posted averages of 24.7 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.1 blocks and 3.0 assists per performance.
He's leading the league in blocks for a third straight season, and he's the odds-on favorite to win the Defensive Player of the Year award, as long as he's eligible. Wembanyama needs to play in four more games this season in order to hit the NBA's 65-game threshold for award eligibility. The Spurs will still have five games remaining after the matchup with the Clippers.
The matchup between San Antonio and L.A. will be the third and final of the season. The Spurs won both of the previous meetings.
