“Sports betting has ruined football”: Fans call out NFL officials over controversial back-to-back PI call before crucial Travis Kelce TD vs. Broncos

Fans are unhappy with the referees of the game between the Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs. The officials made two questionable pass interference calls that have come under heavy scrutiny.

The first one took place in the first quarter when Patrick Mahomes lobbed a pass down the field to Rashee Rice. However, Broncos running back Riley Moss was flagged for a questionable defensive 40-yard pass interference.

The second questionable incident took place in the fourth quarter. Mahomes launched a deep pass down the field while targeting WR Marquise Brown. However, Moss was once again flagged for a 47-yard PI. This set up the Chiefs for a first down. Travis Kelce scored a 21-yard receiving touchdown, giving the Chiefs a 16-19 lead

Fans on social media heavily criticized the officials of the game for these questionable pass interference calls.

"So the exact same thing happened on 3rd down plays, Broncos didn't get a defensive pi and was forced to kick a field goal, but you guessed it Chiefs got the defensive PI and that led to a touchdown, good job refs," one fan commented. "Yo @NFL two 40 yard PI flags in the same game and a pick 6 called back for the Chiefs in their favor? Sports betting has ruined football man," another fan said. "If one is PI they're both PI. The refs and the NFL just want the Chiefs to win. That's clear," this fan wrote "WTF is up with the people in the hashtag #KCvsDEN blaming the broncos CBSs. The NFL literally has the worst PI rules with the spot foul, and the opponent is the chiefs, famous for being bailed out by the refs. The CBs are locking it down," another fan stated. "Chiefs game plan is chuck it up and hope the Refs call PI. Work far too often," this fan commented.

After Travis Kelce's touchdown, Broncos placekicker Will Lutz scored a 54-yard field goal to level the game. In the dying moments of the game, he successfully converted another 35-yard field goal to help his team secure a 22-19 victory.

Skip Bayless roasts Patrick Mahomes for disappointing loss against the Broncos

On X, Skip Bayless shared a tweet calling out the Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes. He said that the three-time Super Bowl champion's performance has been deteriorating with each passing season.

"PATRICK MAHOMES IS SO OVERRATED. HE HAS GOTTEN WORSE EACH OF THE LAST THREE SEASONS. I STUPIDLY THOUGHT HE COULD GO INTO DENVER AND AT LEAST OUTPLAY BO NIX. SO WRONG," Bayless tweeted.

On Sunday, Mahomes completed 29 of 45 passes for 276 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. The Chiefs are now 5-5 with a two-game losing streak under their belt.

On the other hand, the Denver Broncos lead the AFC West with a 9-2 record and an eight-game winning streak.
