Perez Hilton reacted to podcaster Hallie Batchelder's recent “condom epidemic” remarks that stirred controversy online. In a recent episode of her Extra Dirty podcast, Hallie Batchelder discussed relationships during a conversation with influencer Lindsey Fishman. In the episode, Batchelder talked about her personal intimacy preferences.
"The last two guys I've f**k*d, like in the past month, have suggested using condoms, and I'm like kind of being offended by the condom epidemic. I don't know how I feel about it. I don't; I'm allergic... Who likes them? ...They give me yeast infections," the podcaster said.On Friday, the influencer uploaded a clip of this conversation on the podcast's Instagram page. The clip went viral on the internet and sparked a debate. Pop culture podcaster Perez Hilton shared his reaction in his October 29 blog.
During the conversation, Hallie Batchelder gave several reasons for her aversion to the contraceptive method. One of the reasons she gave was that the use of a condom made her feel as though someone was implying she might have an STD.
"Are you calling me a wh*re, and are you trying to protect yourself from STDs I might have?"Reacting to it, Perez Hilton wrote,
"Sorry, what?!? Yeah, he is! You never know, and it is better to be safe than sorry!"In the conversation, Fishman also shared her thoughts on condom use and said that she also didn't like it. She asked Batchelder if she had asked her intimacy partners about why they would use it.
"He just thought it was practicing responsible s*x and boundaries with him. And I was like, ‘Blah blah blah blah blah.'" Hallie Batchelder said.Perez Hilton slammed the podcaster for her "weird take" and "basically say[ing] condoms are for losers." In his blog, Hilton also included multiple comments from online users criticizing Batchelder for her remarks.

While opening up about her reluctance to the specific protection method, Batchelder said that she had a very strong IUD, and she was not worried about pregnancy.
"It kind of like throws me off... One, it kills the mood. Okay, so like, they're looking for a condom. It's also like, okay, one, the mood's killed. Two, I don't want to have your f**ki*g weird offspring, baby. Like, I have a stronger IUD than like Zeus. Pregnancy is not on the table," Hallie Batchelder said.Perez Hilton challenged her take and said, "There’s so much wrong here." He further questioned the efficacy of IUDs in preventing pregnancies. Citing Planned Parenthood, the blogger noted that "fewer than 1 out of 100 people" conceive even after the use of an IUD.
He added that Hallie Batchelder should be "preaching about safe s*x" and not this "weird take." The blogger went on to highlight the inability of IUDs to prevent STIs.
"It is more than just pregnancy, though. IUDs don’t protect against STIs, but you know what does? Condoms. They lower the chance of getting or spreading STIs," the social media personality stated.Perez Hilton further emphasized the safety and questioned taking the "risk." The blogger called Batchelder's comments "beyond irresponsible and dangerous."
Hallie Batchelder responded to the backlash over her remarks in a TikTok video posted on October 25. In the video, she said that she was "not changing" her mind about what she said. However, before concluding, she said, "I’m formally apologizing for saying that, I guess."
